
IMPROVING BLACK YOUTH REPRESENTATION IN HEALTH SECTOR TECHNOLOGIES
CCHAP Black Youth Acrion Plan- Upskilling Program (2025-2026)
The Canadian College of Healthcare and Pharmaceutics (CCHAP) is excited to announce the opening of applications for our 2025-2026 Funding Program aimed at upskilling and placing Black youth and early-career professionals in high-paying jobs within the health sector in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
With support from the Ministry of Citizenship and Multiculturalism (MCM), our mission is to eliminate systemic barriers and promote racial equity through anti-racism leadership. By advancing opportunities for Black youth, we aim to contribute to greater prosperity for Ontario's future.
Workshops in high-demand areas
Micro-Credential & Upskilling
This program, now in its third round, offers 100% funding for specialized micro-credential training and up-skilling workshops in high-demand areas such as phlebotomy, healthcare management, clinical research, and health/business data analytics. Participants will also gain hands-on experience through a 2-week job placement in these fields, supported by wraparound expenses. Programs are set to run until February 2026, with graduation in the same month.

The Phlebotomy Certificate Program
The Phlebotomy Certificate program is a stand-alone program to prepare for the Certified Phlebotomy Technician credential offered by the Canadian Phlebotomy Technician Group Inc.

Healthcare Data Analytics
The Canadian College of Healthcare and Pharmaceutics is pleased to offer a workshop series on Health Data Analytics for those interested in data sciences among many others.

Clinical Research Essential
Clinical research forms the cornerstone of Canada’s healthcare industry. A multitude of entry-level positions are available to a broad spectrum of candidates.

Healthcare Management
The Canadian College for Healthcare and Pharmaceutics offers a Micro-Credential on Healthcare Management program designed to provide an all-encompassing approach.
Eligibility
Eligibility Criteria
Age
You must be a Black young person aged 18-34 years.
Education
Minimum Completed high school diploma (Ontario Secondary School Diploma or Equivalent) with subjects such as English, Biology, and Mathematics.
Aptitude
A strong interest in working in the health sector, clinical research, or business analytics.
Legal Status
Must be a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident, or Convention Refugee. Note: Work permits and International Study Permits are not eligible for this program.
Post-Secondary Education
Completion or enrolment in a health-sector-focused post-secondary program is preferred.
Ontario Residency
You must be a resident of Ontario to apply for this program (e.g., a valid Ontario Driving License or equivalent or Ontario Health Insurance Plan).

Program Details
Location
The program will be conducted at our campus (5481 Dundas St. West, Suite 201, Etobicoke) although location details may be subject to change in September 2025 (still within Etobicoke).

Timeline
Programs run until February 2026, culminating in a graduation ceremony that month.

Commitment
Each program requires a total of 4-6 weeks of commitment, including program training and a 2-week job placement.

Funding
100% of training costs and associated expenses will be covered, including placement costs and wraparound services.
