About the Program

We are living in the era of data and now every job requires some expertise of data analysis. This workshop which includes theory and hands-on sessions will provide you training on how to effectively explore the data. If you want to expand your knowledge of general data description and statistics through a Step-by-Step approach, this is design for you. This is Bring Your Own Laptop (BYOL) workshop.

The Canadian College of Healthcare and Pharmaceutics is pleased to offer a workshop series on Health Data Analytics for those interested in data sciences, statistics, sociology, psychology and clinical studies among many others. The program will introduce you to basic programing in two most used software R and RShiny (Dashboard) including data manipulation and visualization techniques along with useful statistical concepts. This is not just a course but a skill. If you are interested to commence a research career in your field, this course will give you a good start. This Micro-Credential program does not require approval under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005.

1. Ontario Secondary School Diploma (70% score or higher in English, Maths and Biology)

Course Details

Duration

The program is delivered as hybrid over 38 hours:

Instructor-led MS Teams sessions on six weekdays – 4:30pm-9pm (26 hours)

In-person – Two Sundays (12 hours) from 10 am to 4 pm

Credential

Certificate of attendance and certificate of completion

This Micro-Credential program does not require approval under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005.

For fees, please email info@cchap.ca or call 416-233-7869. Funding and grants are available for eligible students. For domestic students, different funding and fees discounts are available.

Funding

The program at the Canadian College of Healthcare and Pharmaceutics is eligible for tax credits under the Canada Skills Credit program. The College also works with financial institutions including Windmill Mircrolending to arrange support for student loans.

Format

The program is offered in two formats

#1 Workshop: The workshop format is 15 hours long and is covered over 15 hours and covers following topics:

Day 1: Importing & Data Cleaning in R (7 hours)

Techniques for importing data into R

Data cleaning and preparation

Handling missing values and outliers


Day 2: Exploratory Data Analysis and Regression analyses (7 hours)

Techniques for exploring and understanding data

Identifying patterns and trends

Fundamentals of regression analysis

Building and interpreting regression models


#2 Micro-Credential: The micro-credential format is 2 weeks long covers the following topics during 38 hours:

Day 1: Introduction to R (6 hours)

Basics of R programming

Data manipulation and visualization techniques


Day 2: Importing Data in R (4 hours)

Techniques for importing data into R

Data cleaning and preparation


Day 3: Data Cleaning in R (4 hours)

Methods for cleaning and organizing data

Handling missing values and outliers


Day 4: Exploratory Data Analysis (4 hours)

Techniques for exploring and understanding data

Identifying patterns and trends


Day 5: Introduction to Statistics in R (6 hours)

Basic statistical concepts and methods

Applying statistics to healthcare data


Day 6: Introduction to Regression in R (6 hours)

Fundamentals of regression analysis

Building and interpreting regression models


Day 7: Text Analyses (4 hours)

Techniques for analyzing text data

Applications in healthcare research


Day 8: R Shiny Dashboard (4 hours)

Creating interactive dashboards using R Shiny

Visualizing healthcare data
